Born and raised in Pojoaque Pueblo, NM, contemporary Pueblo potter Melissa Talachy studied her art since childhood with her parents, noted Pueblo potters Joe and Thelma Talachy. Melissa has earned a degree in museology from the Institute of American Indian Arts, as well as studied advanced Pueblo pottery techniques at the Poeh Cultural Center. Melissa is the assistant curator at the Poeh Museum.
