George Rivera Personal Artist Biography
George Rivera - Bio George Rivera is an internationally known Native American artist, whose creative work centers on monumental stone and clay sculpture, painting and architectural design. As a member of northern New Mexico’s Tewa-speaking Pueblo of Pojoaque, Pueblo culture is the driving force behind his creations. He has also served as the Governor of the Pueblo of Pojoaque. In this role, he oversees the Pueblo’s economic and community development including its unique commercial Plaza and the Pueblo Wellness Center, but he takes his greatest pride in how the Pueblo has integrated traditional arts and education into its development activities.
